Nearly thirty years of hands-on experience in the design and engineering of robotics and mechatronics systems began at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, followed by a Ph.D. in engineering at Stanford, nine years of teaching at the University of Pennsylvania, then a move to the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in 2017.  He caught the entrepreneurship bug in 2012, when he co-founded and led the technical team of Parametric Dining, LLC until its acquisition in 2016.  He then joined the team of Tactai, Inc to serve as CTO from 2018 to 2021 before starting out alone to found Bergsonne Labs as a new approach to helping scientists achieve their dreams.

Philipp helps governments and global institutions navigate the digital age. As VP for Public Sector at DriveLock SE, a TUM Think Tank Fellow and a member of the BKC Circle at Harvard, he lives at the intersection of technology and policy. He's led teams at Amazon Web Services, Gartner, and DXC, taught and researched at top schools like Harvard and Tecnológico de Monterrey, and written books and articles on digital transformation. Philipp holds a PhD from LMU Munich.
